| Special Interest Housing |
Substance Free |
Students must apply each year to be accepted to substance free communities. We have one first year and one upper division halls set aside for substance free communities. |
| First Year Experience |
All first year students are required to live on campus, and first year students are housed separately from returning students. We have a lower student/staff ratio in first year halls, and provide specific training and program expectations for the first year staff. |
| Greek Housing |
We have five sorority houses on campus. They are small 25 bed units. |
| Sophomore Year Experience |
Newly renovated hall is a sophomore-only environment. Residents must apply to be selected to the community. Participation in community events and programs is expected. Programs focus on leadership development, career/major decisions, academic success and community service. |
| Other |
We have six learning communities on campus. They are each sponsored by individual colleges/and/or faculty members. The program is a collaborative effort between Orientation/First Year Programs, Office of Residence Life, and the respective academic units. Communities are for freshmen only, and they enroll in one common course, usually a general education course. They have weekly reflection meetings in the residence halls attended by faculty and hall staff. Student must submit a written application and be accepted to the individual community. |
