| Office Structure |
Our mission is to support living and learning environments which foster the
development of individuals intellectually, personally, and socially for students in our traditional residence halls, Longwood-managed apartments, and commuting populations. We provide suite-style and apartment-style residential facilities, and we work closely with the town of Farmville and our local landlords to meet the needs of our commuters. The Residential and Commuter Life central office consists of the Executive Director - Residential and Commuter Life, Associate Director - Housing, Associate Director - Off Campus Living (Longwood-managed apartments and commuters), Assistant Director - On Campus Living (traditional residence halls), a Technology Coordinator, an Assignments Manager, an Apartment Manager, and our Office Manager/Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director. We also have eight master's level Residence Education Coordinators living in their respective communities and working most closely with our students. Three graduate assistants focus on individual areas, including front desk management, programming center management, and the RCL Advisory Board. We employ 72 Resident Assistants and 65 students in Desk Aide or other student employee positions. We work with the University's Physical Plant and UGL-UNICO for maintenance needs, and our housekeeping needs are managed through ARAMARK Housekeeping. |
