Office Structure

The Department of Residence Life @ VSU is comprised of three major operational areas:  Housing, Residence Education, and Administration (Facilities Management and Dining Services are contracted out to Sodexho-Marriott).  The Housing Office is responsible for Room Assignments, Student Billing, and Student Record Management.  Residence Educators manage the overall operation of our 13 Residence Halls. Administration manages human resources, budget issues, physical assets of the Department (furniture, equipment, etc ) and serves as a point of contact for the various campus areas that work to maintain our Residence Halls.

Privatized Housing-- The University Apartments at Ettick is a new edition to the housing community of VSU.  While a separate entity that is operated by JPI, it is linked to the University through the VSU Real Estate Foundation. 

Special Interest Housing Smoke Free All buildings are smoke free.
Alcohol Free VSU is a dry campus.
Honors Housing A co-ed residence hall, Langston Hall serves as the University's Living and Learning Honors Residence Hall.  Students are required to apply, must maintain a minimum 3.0 Cum GPA and must exemplify the characteristics of an honor student. 
Non-Traditional Housing Geared toward the more mature student, Trinkle Hall houses non-traditional and graduate students in a traditional residence hall setting.  To qualify during the pre-housing period, students must:  be full time graduate students, or be 25 years old, or have served at least one full tour in the military.  Open spaces are later offered to Graduating Seniors who are at least 21, and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
