| First Year Experience |
The WING program is a first year experience program. Two resident advisors staff this program. Residents are enrolled in a 3 credit First Year Seminar Course. The class focuses on college transition issues and skill improvement (reading, note taking, time management, etc) Approximately 90 students participate in this program. |
| International Houses |
The WORLD program is our international living option. Domestic and International students live in this building. Approximately 40 students participate in this program with a staff of two resident advisors. |
| Honors Housing |
The Hillcrest Honors Community holds about a hundred students. It is housed in Hillcrest Hall. There are a total of 3 student staff members. Community members make a commitment to living in Hillcrest for 3 to 4 years. The Main Campbell Honors Community houses approximately 90 students. There is an even distribution of seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshman in each community. Students take an honors seminar class and participate in specialized programming. |
| Greek Housing |
The Oak Lane Community is composed of eighteen organizations all of which are recognized fraternities and sororities on campus. These groups lease their buildings from the university to use the space for living and programming initiatives. Residents also pay for their room and a dining (meal) plan. This area houses approximately 600 students. A student hired and supervised by the department serves as a house manager for their respective organization. |
| Academic Major/Interest Housing |
Biological and Life Sciences Learning Community. This program is staffed by two resident advisors. There are about 40 program participants. All community membesr are registered for the same Principles of Biology and General Chemistry classes. Additionally they take a 1 credit seminar class each semester, focusing on college survival skills in the fall and life sciences careers in the spring
Hypatia: Women in Engineering Learning Community. 100 first and second year women participate in this program. First-year students are enrolled in a 2 credit seminar class the fall semester of the year. Second-year students participate in a 1-credit seminar. Seminar topics include successful academic strategies and exploring critical issues surrounding women s roles in predominantly male fields. The program is staffed by two resident advisors.
Galileo: Men in Engineering Learning Community. 228 first and second year men participate in this program. First-year students are enrolled in a 2 credit seminar class in the fall semester. Second-year students participate in a 1-credit seminar. Participants discuss issues that male engineers face in the growing, competitive marketplace. The program is staffed by five resident advisors.
Mosaic: Multicultural Opportunity and Social Awareness Interest Community. 57 first students participate in this program. Students take a 3-credit class, Learning about Diversity and Social Justice. Open to new and returning students. The program is staffed by two resident advisors.
Residential Leadership Community: 215 student participants. It has a first year program and a second year program (the second year is for students who have participated in the first year and were interviewed to be a 2nd year member). Students take a course in the fall and spring associated with leadership. The community members also are heavily involved in community service and developing a service project. |
| Wellness |
Two resident advisor work with our Wellness program titled "The W.E.L.L." (The Wellness Environment for Living and Learning). Staff utilize the Spices programming model. 120 new and returning students participate in this program. |
